# Get Template Details

> Retrieve a WhatsApp template by its Meta template ID

Returns the structure, language, category, components, and example placeholder values for one template.

## Request

**MetaTemplateId** `string` *required*

Meta's unique identifier for the template. The template must belong to a WABA available to the authenticated user.

## Response

**errorCode** `number`

`0` when the request succeeds; otherwise, an API error code.

**errorDescription** `string`

Human-readable result description.

**data** `string`

A JSON-encoded string containing the template definition.

> `data` is JSON encoded inside a string. Parse the outer response first, then parse `data` to work with the template object.
